LEI basics
An LEI is a 20-character identifier connected to a public reference record. Banks, brokers, exchanges, fund administrators and regulators may ask for it before allowing a legal entity to trade or onboard.
Who can issue one?
GLEIF-accredited LEI Issuers, also called LOUs, issue and maintain LEIs. Registration Agents can help customers access those issuers, but the issuer remains responsible for the LEI record.
Why compare prices?
The identifier is standardized, but provider pricing is not. Registration, renewal, transfer, currency, VAT and support can vary materially by provider and jurisdiction.
